Rudo lives in the slums of a floating town, where the wealthy residents look down on those below and discard their "trash" into a massive, bottomless pit known as the Abyss. After being falsely accused of murdering his foster father, Rudo is thrown into the Abyss himself. Instead of dying, he discovers a world of "Givers"—people who can draw out the latent power of cherished objects. Armed with a pair of gloves and a burning desire for revenge against the sky-dwellers, Rudo joins a group called the "Cleaners."
