The God of High School follows Jin Mori, a 17-year-old Taekwondo specialist who self-identifies as the strongest high schooler. He is invited to join a mysterious tournament called "God of High School," which promises the winner anything they desire—no questions asked.

The story begins as a grounded, high-energy martial arts tournament where Mori befriends Han Daewi (a Karate expert) and Yoo Mira (a swordmaster). However, the series quickly shifts gears into a supernatural epic. It introduces Charyeok (Borrowed Power), a system where fighters "borrow" the abilities of gods, demons, and historical figures. As the stakes escalate from a local tournament to a global war involving ancient deities and the fate of the three realms, Mori discovers that his own identity is tied to the legendary Monkey King, Sun Wukong.
